So I found one i'm interested in, but it turns out i might be too big for these cars. I'm 6'3" 220 and when i sat in it the steering wheel was putting pressure on my lap. Then i find out that there is not tilt on the steering column :facepalm. So I have 2 questions for someone that might know:

1. Has anyone attempted or successfully installed a tilt steering column on the LHD model? I searched this forum and no one seems to have posted about it being done and someone mentioned that the reason they didn have it on the RHD migh be due to the downpipe location however this would not be an issue on the LHD hence my question.

2. I read that some suggest getting a smaller steering wheel and one with a squared off bottom but i really had my sights set on the Nardi Deep Corn Sport Rally. It is a bit smaller 350mm vs 380mm but i don't know if that is enough. It does seem more concave than stock so i'm wondering, for those that have it, does it bring the wheel out considerably more than stock? If it brings it out 2 inches that might be enough to make it work for me. Any info would be appreciated.

 

Get some bucket seats

 

It really depends on your seated height. A lot of us drive with a slight recline in the seat. I also extend my seat back and use more of my calf and ankle to push the clutch than my knee and quad. I am 5'11" 185 and I fit comfortably in a sunroof model with the stock steering wheel, but I am all legs. My friend Dale is 6'7". He looks like a giant driving my car, but with his non sunroof model and flat bottom steering wheel he fits pretty well.

I would say don't be afraid of the car because of your height, you may just have to adapt your driving style. Non sunroof models and a smaller wheel really help. Aftermarket seats can help, but are pretty pricey and sometimes not the most comfortable.

 

I have a quick release and hub combo with a momo wheel. I have my seat all the way back. Im 6'6" and am mostly OK.

I have the car located in San Jose, CA right now. I did just realize that you were asking for a left hand drive but it is a right had drive, but it is a Type R Bathurst....so that might make up the driver side preference
