they dont. in fact, removing them is one of the first things that people do. its a reliability mod

Please explain. Wouldn't free flowing down pipe cause boost creep? What is recommended to replace with?

Eliminate the downpipe cat and keep the mid cat. 👍

True, except people are looking for OE parts when converting their cars back to bone stock condition for top dollar sale. Good luck shipping that thing anywhere. They’re stupid heavy.

correct... the pre cat is just for emissions. US market emissions. japan didnt get this part. it would be more valuable to replace the factory usdm pre cat with a factory jdm downpipe even on a 17 mile car. oem part to maintain factory performance but without all the downsides. keep the stock main cat and you can do whatever you want with the pre cat. that pre cat is a real bastard

That's exactly what I did, factory JDM DP replaced my USDM DP.
