Description:
FS:1993 FD with ~109k miles on the chassis, but less on everything attached to it! I have owned this car since 2002, and have modified the subsystems in the car with a goal of creating a street/track car that is fun to drive and is reliable and fast. I have done over 100 track days in this car, but none in the last ~8-10 years since I most recently refreshed everything. I love this car and have loved building and running it but I simply don't have time anymore and want to pass this on to someone who will take care of it and use it for what it was designed. There's a million things to talk about - so please contact me with questions - but here's some highlights:
The car started out as a 1993 touring in Georgia, then went to Ohio for a brief stay, then to Calgary for a few months where it was modified (poorly) before being sold to me.
The motor is an Steve Kan street port built from a Mazda Reman, which was opened again ~5 years after install to fix a side seal issue and replace all water seals. I have run it for the last ~10 years on about 5psi of boost, but it dyno'd at 330rwhp at 11psi. I can find a dyno sheet for anyone interested. The car runs and drives well and pulls good vaccuum (340-350mmhg at 900 rpm idle).
Apexi PowerFC tuned by Steve Kan originally, and adjusted since by me. >25mpg highway! ~4mpg track!
A-Spec GT35R single turbo kit customized with a Tial v-band waste gate and downpipe connection. New CHRA < 1000 miles.
Ceramic coated intake exhaust and turbo.
KGParts Custom Fuel System with aftermarket rails, FPR, gauges inside the bay and in the car, and flojo injector driver.
Custom Oil Catch System with quick release dump can and vents from both sides of the motor to prevent blow-by during hard cornering
Racing beat lightweight flywheel
HKS Twinpower
Heavy Duty Clutch
ASP Large intercooler and ducting from nose
Stainless mid-pipe (no resonator) and aftermarket single tip exhaust.
Twin oil coolers from R1
Full Coolingmist water injection system, but I have not been running it given the lower boost levels.
FD trans with JSpec short 5th gear
Custom Low weight battery installed where the passenger bin normally resides.
Custom Fuel tank sump system with aftermarket pump and tank foam with resistor bypassed.
Custom matched/dyno'd R1 shocks with Tein lowering springs, setup for a NASA stock TT class.
Custom modified stock hood with venting
Engine brace
Full superpro bushing kit
Front/Rear shock tower braces
Racing beat front/rear Swaybars
Billet front Sway Bar Mounts.
Rebuilt and repainted stock calipers front and rear with Racing Brake stock size 2 piece rotors and HPS pads. I have a number of types of track pads to go with the car.
Techedge Wideband setup with display in the car
Fluidyne aluminum radiator with custom ducting for GTC style Nose
Linearized oil and water gauges
Autometer boost, temp and fuel pressure gages in the center speaker mount.
Stereo, Air conditioning, and power steering delete!
Brake ducting (nose only right now)
SSR Integral A2 in a 17x8 FD fitment (could use some spacers) with nearly new Falken 510's - this car has run everything from 16x8 to 18x10's!
Interior was converted from a Tan Touring to a R1 black interior with the stock base model seats.
Car is setup to use 5 point harnesses - I have some that I can include that are expired but work fine.
Wing is original Mazdaspeed GTC
Nose is GTC reproduction with custom ducting, '99 style lights, and custom covers.
Carbon side skirts
There are of course a few issues:
In 20 years I have never been able to tune out a strange spot at 2400-2800 rpm. I have replaced every piece of the system except the main harness.
The nose was cracked in an unfortunate incident loading the car onto a trailer a few years back - it holds together fine, but could use some repair and a repaint.
There are some general issues with the body/paint - one spot on the door was repaired but never repainted, and some of the normal scratching for a 30 year old car is also evident.
One of the light covers is currently cracked.

I have had a few offers, but I want to find someone who wants a car setup to drive street/track and is willing to work on it themselves. I want the next owner to be successful and happy with the car!
I do have some basic videos of the car idling/driving/boosting if anyone is interested.
