CT wiring trouble

I was having trouble with headlights and the retractor motors. I traced it back to the switch and replaced it with one out of a parts car. The headlights work great and go up and down as they should. The problem is I now have no running lights, brake lights or directionals no guage lights. What do all of these have in common I have checked all fuses. I checked the rear harness all was good. I didn't bother checking the front harness the problem seems to be before they split. I swapped out the flasher/ CPU I put the old switch back in same problem plus no headlights. Any great ideas to save me hours of poking around in that mess under the dash ??
To make it even better this is a friends car.

Double check the fuses, I had the same problem with my 7 and it was a fuse, also check all the conections you worked on.
