NC wiring (painless)

I was wanting to get rid of the old main harness since I use virtually nothing on it. I want to be able to use my power window, brake lights, headlight, turn signals, flashers, the basics and get rid of all the rest. However I am a novice when it come to wiring and I just want it all gone since the car is getting a frame up restoration (or unibody) for the picky. I was just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this i would really appreciate it. And yes the wiring sucks and there are shorts and 5 or more wires melted together.
thanks in advance
shane

Probably the best way is to de-pin the plugs. If you ask around locally I am sure you can find someone that can do this for you. Much safer than cutting as you cant uncut a wire but you can re-insert the pin in the plug.

hey

well I thought the same thing I was just looking for a dependable way because this is a 10 grand rebuild and I am not doing it again. I guess I will be in the market for an s4 wiring harness without defects and just lay it back in. This car is also getting a new sheet metel dash so i guess i will just have extra wires.
