VA Wiring location suggestions for relays for headlights and power windows

I picked up some 30amp relays and am planning to rewire the the lines to the headlights and wanted to get some thoughts on whether to cut the wiring harness at the back of the headlight bay or whether folks would think it's better to do it in the kickpanel next to the cpu?

There seems to be enough space in there and it seems like it would be easier to get to. I don't think there's an issue with putting past the CPU as the relay will still hold the load off the switch which is my goal. Do I need to put it on the far side of the 30amp fuses in the engine bay though?

I like the idea of keeping the switches in the more temperature and weather controlled area around the kickpanel but would expect I'll need to replace them in a year or so anyway given how crappy relays are anymore.. (I bought bullz audio not bosch this time to try them out..)

On the power windows I'm assuming I'll just take the door panel off and put a metal screw on the inside somewhere and wire off the switch. Thoughts or suggestions on putting it closer into the wiring harness are also welcome!

In my 85 I put them up under the front left fender under the headlight. They're exposed to the elements more than I'd like but they're out of sight and were easy to install.

do yourself a favor and use the sockets for those relays. autozone has them but there super cheap online like $1.50 just plug them instead of using blade connectors and blah blah blah. ran into alot of problems crimping those things properly for my electric fan. terrible bumpy roads + 30 year old suspension = **** falling off or breaking. just my .02
