My driver's side window switch on my '86 is getting a bit flaky. When these go, can they typically be restored with a contact cleaning? Or is it usually a mechanical issue, and I should just order a new one now?

 

some guy sells a plug in kit on ebay so that the switches stop failing, the load through the switch constantly burns the contacts inside them. cheaper than new switches and is a cure, not a bandaid like a new switch.
