Hey everyone I need new seats for my 86 FC and I was wondering can seats from a RX-8 or seats from a FD can fit in my car???can someone help me out?

 

you can get a seat rail for and FC just make shure you get the matching seat to it done get a bucket seat rail with a reclinable seat, or the other way around, Bride,Sparco,Momo, and other 3rd Brand companies all make Seat rails and Seat that will fit in your FC i have a Bride supper low, in my FC wich i recomend if you are tall, but it can be a bit tireing to drive every day espesialy on long comutes in a bucket seat so if you drive for long periods of time and you dont NEED a bucket get a nice Reclinable Seat.

 

yeah they will fit, but all that you will see here have customized seat brackets to make them fit, and given the amount of work I have seen others do to make the seats fit on the rails it requires some welding experience. I don't believe any will fit on the rails and simply bolt down.

Search around I know there have been other threads on this topic

Might be easier and cheaper to look into buying the reupholstering kit for the seats if you are handy.

 

if you want you can PM im in Japan and i can find a wide variety of seat rails and seats.

 

The previous owner of my FC had similar plans but never go around to it. As a result I have some spare RX-8 parts including the upper part of a drivers seat if you are interested...

FD seats do not fit height wise unless you are VERY short. I sat some in there just to see and with them SITTING on the carpet my head was very close to the roof. I'm 5'10". So thats a no go.
