hi all, just posted a couple days ago about a spinning clutch and was wondering about a whining sound i've had for a while now. the same whining sound you get while in reverse is happening while in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th but not in 4th. could that have to do with the clutch going bad, or is it a totally different problem. i've done some searching and found something about bearings in the tranny, but not sure if that applies here or not. any suggestions? i can provide more info if needed.

 

I'm having similar situation with the whining sound as well.... however, my car is still in the shop waiting to hear from the mechanic's inspection.

There are two possibilities toward the whining sound which I've looked up:
First one has to do with the bearings of the transmission like you mentioned; the other one has to do with the transmission fluid.

Maybe check those two out first, hopefully it's not anything huge.
I'm still waiting to hear from my mechanic, will let everyone know how it turns out once I receive updates from him.
