whats up guys, I may be getting back into the FD game in the next few days...woo hoo!! anyway...I was wondering if there was a place where I can find a list of parts and a description of exactly what they did/their purpose. (the parts of the turbocharging system). I had an FD back in 05 but didn't really know/care about how it worked. Only cared that it was "fast". If im going to have one to play around with I want to know exactly what all the parts do. thanks in advance!

Unless there is a school that I don't know about that deals in stuff like this,I suggest the 3rd Gen specific and Archives section.
And Coffee..and Read,read,read..Personally did this and never regretted it.
You are on the right Forum,where the info is at hand for you.Just waiting.
I found out real early that it will not come to you.

i appreciate that. maybe ill look up in other places on the net how certain things work and what their functions are. things im talking about are things like the waste gate.....im not really sure what that does

 

Try wording like "how does a turbo work"..stuff like that.
I remember a web site that had exactly that.but I forget the name..heh!
I was 45 and didn't know anything about this stuff..I just guessed..
Eventually I read a crap load of stuff and figured it out.
Really simple when you get down to it.
