Wheels, 79, 8.8"

I know everyone hates on the sbc swap, Im just looking for some info/help with wheels and tires.

I narrowed a 8.8" so its centered, its ~.5 inches shorter on each side from the stock axle.

As you can see, there is very little room between the flange/control arm bracket.

I'm wondering about how wide I can go on the wheels/tires? I'm wondering about 15x8's, with a 2" backspacing?

And think I can fit a 225 / 235 in there? Obviously going for as wide a tire as possible

Comments? Help? lol

Hmmm. I'm not sure how close the factory bracket is to the hub on the stock rear axle. I'm running 15x7 225/50/15s that fit perfectly in the rear.

235 would probably stick out a bit, well on a +10 offset.. I know I have another inch or two in the rear inwards towards the pumpkin. Would just need the right width/offset/backspacing to fit a 245 back there.

Maybe give grannysspeedshop a call. They might be able to answer some questions you have. They specialize in 8.8, 9" rear ends for our cars.
