In my 88 convertible behind the seats, on each side of the spare tire there are two round grey plastic covers. Each one covers a bolt. Can anyone tell me what these bolts are for? There may be some info in an owner's manual, but I don't have one.

 

it looks like theyre fo the struts but theyre not. im not sure what that is lol

 

it looks to me like a support of some sort, perhaps a sway bar or something.

 

bump stops for the Vert roof?

 

Deff bump stops. My very has the same stops for the top hooks when the top is fully down. Make sure you push the hooks closed so they are flat when you put the top down or they will bounce of them and be a pain in the neck
