what size carb for my 12a

Hey everyone I recently bought a 1982 rx7.
The car is a stock port but it has a holly 650 carburetor on it.
What would be a good carburetor for my car.

I am leaning towards a weber. any suggestions?

welcome to the board.

well, first, i'm glad to see you getting rid of that 650! you simply don't NEED it. it's a waste in your application.

personally, i would recommend going stock and getting a Nikki, but i guess it really will come down to what you have in mind for the future with the car.

as far as the Weber versus Holley (and i include their "clones" in that) i have worked with both and i have seen both work. as long as they are set up appropriately for your engine, they will work just fine. i do find the Weber and Weber-type carbs a bit easier to work. i think they are simpler in design.

however, i think i read in your thread history somewhere that the car is your daily driver and in that case, i would again say weigh your options and don't discount the little Nikki. however, i used to DD a Dell'Orto and once i got it straightened out, it was a joy. my brother doesn't DD his Rx-7 with a Holley, but it's by choice, not because it would pose an issue.

Thanks for the help! After thinking about it I think the Nikki would be my best bet while I DD the car.
