And no, the intercooler was specfically NOT bigger because than it wouldn't allow cool air to the turbo and cool air around the intercooler itself. If it takes up the whole bay, its quite hard to effectively cool I'd imagine considering the larger heat dissipation.

To be frank if I recall correctly he charged me about $2300 for the Intercooler set up. That's fitted to the car specifically for the turbo set up, intake set up, etc.
sorry i meant the cost for intercooler only. Labor tends to rob you so i can tell how much the IC would be.

im sure it will workout just fine but i was referring to efficiency.
I guess ducting the intake for the turbo is out of the question?

Not sure im following your train of thought about the the larger IC not cooling effectively.
In comparison with the same volume a thicker Interooler will not cool as efficiently as the larger but thinner IC.

Think of it this way, compare a
2"X1" with 1" thick IC
vs
1"x1" with 2" thick IC

Same volume but different (fresh air) surface area,

The on the larger IC ALL 2x1x1 will get fresh cool air that infact the air will get cooled TWICE. first by the 1x1x1 then same air gets cooled again on the next 1x1x1.

The thicker IC, the first 1x1x1 will get fresh air BUT the remaining 1x1x1(since it sits behind it) will get an already heated air that cooled the front 1x1x1.

so will it cool? sure given that you have enough surface area/fins. not as efficient.

BUT if you cant fit it then well you gotta work with what you got.

are you able to achieve linear powerband with 5-600whp setup?
I won't know until I try. With e85 though, I'll make a reliable 350whp on this current setup once the car is all together. A larger, modern turbo shouldn't have a problem with those power goals. Fueling the thing on e85 is tricky though. Definitely couldn't use a factory S5 13bt IM with only 4 injectors...
