What did I do????

So, I just bought a 89 non turbo for my daughter last Friday. 1989, Stick, 91,000 two owner miles, garaged and babied its whole life. Anyway, on Sunday the drivers side heater hose ruptured so today I picked up two new heater hoses, both radiator hoses and a thermostat from Mazda. Changed them all out, filled it up and now it wont start??????? It fires up for a split second then nothing. I can do that 50 times with the same result...checked connections, fuses, anything I can see. Anyone have any ide what I could have done? Car ran perfect...never overheated, even started it up after the heater hose ruptured just to make sure where the hole was. Any help is greatly appriciated.

Can you keep it running ok after starting by just depressing the accel pedal? If so, check your IAC and look around at the TB and linkages.

If No, make sure you didn't leave off an air hose anywhere off of the intake as the AFM is right after the air cleaner, thus any leak is unmeasured air. But in this case it would have to be a big leak since it fails to idle at all.

You can try the deflood procedure in the FAQs if you can't find anything wrong. If you ran the car only briefly and then shut it off the last time it ran well, this could be the problem. Briefly, being less than 1 minute I would say.

Did coolant spray all over the engine bay? Perhaps something electrical is now wet. Check the CAS, coils, TPS, plug wires.

Was the car driven with no coolant?
