Ok so I'm trying to fix a 84 rx7 with a 88 t2 engine swap. It has a strange noise that sounds like a fuel pump from under the intake mani, and will only run if ur pouring gas in the intake. We just put a new inline pump on it so were very confused. Please any advise on the noise or gas problem would be very appriciated! Thanks for ur time.

 

Unless the car and engine weremeant to have a pump outside the tank, I would install the pump at the tank pickup. Wondering if your pump is primed sucks!

Replace fuel filter, check pickup filter in tank, and if you can test for injector firing that would help as well. You can use a screwdriver as a stethecope, google it.

 

Hey thanks ill try those things. But what about the strange noise? It never use to make that sound .
