Warning lights
I have an 89 N/A RX7 GXL it has no mechanical problems but I just recently noticed that when my car is idling the warning indicator lights in the center dash all come on then then off and does that over and over when the car idle surges. I disconnected the battery and that helped for awhile but then started to do it again. I was working on installing a quick release hub and was tightening the bolt down when I noticed that I was crushing the plastic that goes between the hub and the turn signal release switch the one that releases the lever when you turn. I noticed the lights come on after that, but I also disconnected the switch and still did the same thing so I don't think that's it unless it fried something but the switch still works fine and it doesnt look broken, I also noticed my car idling different when the lights are all on & kind of sputttering. Just need to know if anyone has experienced this or know what it is?
There is an alternator warning relay inside of the indicator lights unit and when it is tripped it causes most of the warning lights to turn on. You need to address the charging system starting w/the alternator.
