Walbro 255 conversion/ Fuel pressure regulator

Need to upgrade my fuel pump. Currently a replacement OEM pump as old one no longer worked when I swapped the 1989 GTU motor for a JDM T2. Cleaned and resealed fuel tank and replaced all fuel line from tank to motor and wrapped with reflective heat tape an replaced all clamps. Still have the the NA fuel pump as I had to get car moved out and OEM replacement was best at the time. Now I have the walbro 255 and looking for the best and safest way to install as Non turbo fuel pump won't be able to keep up. Tried searching but no luck. Any help insight appreciated. Can I keep original internal fuel pump sender/mount and run a longer length of hose to replace gap left where old internal pump used to be? Also any recommendations on FPR?

The Walbro just goes in the tank in place of the old factory pump
