i was looking through the mazdatrix web sight and i came across a wv trans adapter kit. i was wondering what benefit would there be to swapping out the transmission and has anyone done it?

swapping out the transmission? surely u don't think this is a kit to swap a vw trans into a 7. this kit allows the rotary to be used in the older vw bugs, dune buggies and sand rails.

 

Very true. My brother bought a S5 TII motor with the kit. The shop that he bought it from was transplanting the engine in a sand rail. Needless to say we sold the kit and continued with the fb heart transplant.

 

aah i get it.. that makes much more sense, i was thinking the tans had a better gear range or somthing...

I saw an adapter for that Rx7 engine to a VW trans in the Racing section.Its an old thread though.
