Very low(-30°C) FC temp reading upon startup

The last few times I have started my 3rd gen cold, the Power FC shows very low temps ( once as low as -38°C). It has always been around 70-85°F on those times during startup. The car will run very rough due to the false temp readings, which in turn, cause the car to think air density is much higher. After about 1 min or so the temps shoot up to normal as expected, idle drops, the problem is gone and the car runs great onwards.

Is this a faulty coolant temp sensor, or could this be another issue? Anyone else experienced this?

thanks,
-Lee

No personal experience, but my first suspect is the sensor. A bit of a PITA to get to but definitely do-able for anyone with a wrench set.

I should mention that the 70-85°F I mentioned is outside ambient, not engine coolant.
