Unknown plugged hose and hole.

Have been looking around in the engine compartment and got confused at two points.

Maybe it helps to know I have a JDM with auto tranny.

I see a plugged hose that disappears along the tranny. What is it? Where would it go if it weren't plugged?

I saw a hole in the engine! Hard to see in the picture, but there are screw threads in it. The location of the hole is right above the trailing spark plug of the rear rotor. The front rotor seems to have a matching hole that is filled with something. Knock sensor? Should the hole be empty on the rear rotor?

I hope the pictures aren't to bad. Especially the one of the engine was difficult to take.

I don't know about the secondary throttle system on the FD, so maybe someone else can answer that.

The hole on the rotor housing is for a knock sensor. If I recall, it should be on the front rotor housing. Is there a disconnected wire in that area?

On the front rotor something is connected to the corresponding hole. And I haven't seen any disconnected wire so everything is probably alright there then.

The double throttle is disconnected, but that is not the hose that confuses me.

Ploplen, I went and looked at my 7 and I have an empty hole in that same place you do, I wonder if maybe it is a dummy hole, knock sensor in the front housing and nothing in the rear?

I will get under my hood in a little bit and try to trace that vacuum line, although my car has had a bunch of lines taken out, I will post my results for ya

Hi!, it's not a vacuum line plug but a breather for the auto tranny!

It's not a plug but a filter that let pass air but not let dirt in.

And for the hole in the rear housing, nothing go in there..... it's for the knock sensor on the front. The hole is there because the front and rear housing are the same!

Hope that it help you

Here a pic of my FD auto tranny
