Turn signal and parking light combination connector malfunction?

Hello all, I recently had some work done to my car where the bumper had to come off. However once everything was put back together I noticed that my passenger side turn signal combination was not working. I changed all the bulbs which didn't solve the problem. I tried messing with male/female connector to the assembly while the parking lights and passenger side turn signal were on. I soon discovered that squeezing the turn signal and parking light combination's connector tighter against the male wiring assembly (that runs back into the engine bay/body fixed the turn signal problem, but my parking light still won't come on.

I was curious if this was a common occurrence with the connectors? Also is there a way to clean the connectors so the male and female connection improves? Forget the lack of "technical terms" but we all have to start somewhere. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
