Transmissions and crying myself to sleep.
Bought it for $200,
Bought a used engine for $600 (with some extra parts and a RB race header)
put it all together
Ecu was bad
fixed countless things, spooned the fuel out of the tank (parked since 1999)
put a magnet on the filler plug for the transmission
drove about 120 miles, mostly highway, twisties and such, noticed that the transmission whines like a 12yearold. 4th doesn't make any noise, 1st makes a tiny bit 2 and 3 make a bit more and 5th will make your ears ring after 15-20 minutes.
Checked the filler, saw this.
How much is a GXL drivetrain swap again?
