Transmission whine?

I had my first drift event this weekend and only drifted one day. Now ever since there's a really bad whine coming from my transmission and when i try to accelerate it feels like it really is working the engine hard to get up to rpm. It doesn't feel like its slipping, but could it be my clutch? or would it be a U joint? Any advice/help would be appreciated!

A U joint is on the driveshaft and it would cause vibration..so it is not a U joint.
Bad Throw out would be heard if you push in the clutch and hear excess noise.
Pilot bearing "could be" the problem, noise wise, but in NO way would it cause the Car to not gain speed(get up to Rpm)

It makes the noise even if i rev it up in nuetral or im driving in any gear. I can hear the motor working really hard but my actual rpms on the dash move super sloe and the car doesnt wanna get up and go at all barely. Why would it make that noise even in nuetral?

how old is the clutch? Is there plenty of fluid in the transmission?

Whats your engine oil look like? change the oil and cut open the filter. make sure the engine is still healthy.

I would double check where the sound is coming from, you can use a steel rod to act like a stethoscope to pin point where the sound is coming from

Yeah I'll have to check try that out this weekend sometime... I'm almost positive its coming from the tranny, i checked under the hood and was feeling around with a screw driver already and revving it up to see if i could feel some vibration somewhere near the rear of the engine. I'll also check the tranny, haven't done that yet.

sagging or torn transmission mounts allowing the transmission to sit on the crossmember will transmit the rolling noise of the transmsission to the chassis.

try simply pulling up on the shifter while driving to see if the noise is reduced or eliminated indicating the above condition.

If the transmission makes noises when neutral and when in gear, BUT when you PRESS the clutch pedal in , the noise stops . then that is good bet that its the input shaft bearing on the trans

main bearing noise will usually go away in direct gear(4th). if it's still there is could be a preloaded throwout bearing due to improper clutch pedal adjustment.

Its much quieter in 4th gear when I'm driving BUT its still there but not even close to as loud as in the other gears.
And are you talking about the main bearing in the motor or the input shaft bearing in the tranny?

It sounds like a bearing problem in the transmission, the input shaft of the transmission is still turning when in neutral..

Get a used tranny or replace the input shaft bearing. I drove around with a noisy bearing for few month till it got very loud. When i was replacing my tranny, the one with the bad bearing, the input shaft was a bit difficult to spin.
