Transmission trouble

I'm having trouble trying to diagnose the issue with my 90 vert. I just baught the car used and after driving for a few hundred miles the car won't drive. I put it in reverse backed up a few feet the the car jolted like I popped the clutch and stalled instantly. Clutch feels fine. The car starts when I have the clutch in but as soon as I start to let off the car jolts, even if the shifter is in neutral. the previous owner said he rebuilt the tranny. I dropped the tranny out and the clutch plate looks fine. T/o bearing and fork are still in place an move freely. Clutch master/slave cylinder have no leaks.. Any thoughts??

have you checked your diff? i mean i know its simple but check and see something is getting stuck somewhere in your rear drivetrain. if your tranny looks good see whats stopping it from moving. or listen to hear where this pop is from

Jack up the rear end, turn the passenger side rear wheel. Does the other wheel turn? If not, you have a bad part in the diff. I just broke a half shaft and it had a loud pop and the car wouldn't move after. I have to replace the diff now.

I'll check it out. But the car rolls freely when the clutch is in. And now the tranny is out there is no resistance.

UPDATE: I checked the diff an it spun the wheels just fine so I took the tranny to the shop and got the update. The tranny was in pieces. It's getting rebuilt n I'll have it back by next week. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Glad you found the problem bro. It sucks to have a FC down. Mine was down for 2 months. Now it's back and runs even better.
