transmission???

hey guys firts ? about rx7, um i am buying a t2 tranny from my bud and he says he doesnt know for sure if its a t2 or na .

i know the t2 is alot more boxy but idk how much more can eny one like get me a pic of the two trannys or somethin visual???

I don't mean to be offensive or anything and no disrespect is meant toward your friend, but how could someone not keep track of that kind of information? I would really be concerned with the mileage on that transmission, and if it even works before worrying about if it's a t2 or not. This is all assuming you don't plan on rebuilding it yourself though. As far as identification on the transmission, it has been my experience that there are usually identifying marks on the transmission casing, look for any writing and reference it.

yes but he has four trannys to pick from .

so i would like to get the right one not no n.a.

and he does know wich are wich just i want to know the diff for my self so i dont get ripped .

The TII transmission has a removable plate on the bottom. It also has a removable bellhousing and is a lot heavier then the NA unit. The NA unit is one solid casting from the bellhousing to just before the tail housing and has only a drain plug on the bottom. Also, the TII transmission has two fill and two drain plugs.
