Yes...it's a bolt-in but not a drop-in easily affair...the shifter is the biggest problem, the FAQ sticky thread has all the specifics. There's so many FB transmissions in my area, I don't worry about this upgrade myself.

Thanks, I'll find that and read through. My tranny is a little noisy and 2nd syncro is a bit lazy on downshifts. I haven't had it apart yet and a buddy knows of a 2nd gen low mile tranny pretty cheap so I thought of going that route.

Yep, your getting to the end of its life cycle...stop downshifting, make sure you're using the clutch on all shifting and you might get another 8 months or so out of it.
Hopefully, you'll have sourced another transmission by then.
