PA Thinking about selling 94 R2 (again...)

A few years ago I joined this forum when I was thinking about selling my 94 R2, but then changed my mind. I have not been active since then, but now it looks like there is most likely a divorce coming in the near future and I might want to raise some cash.

When thinking about selling the car, the thought comes to mind that it has some problems and should I consider doing some fixes or just sell it the way it is considering that it is pretty high mileage.

Mileage
=====
The car has a bit over 137k miles now. The motor, turbos and clutch were all replaced somewhere in the 70-80k mileage range. So all of those things could be near the end of their lives again. However, about 7 years ago, I had some work done by KD Rotary, including a downpipe, red vacuum lines and a boost guage. Apparently the downpipe should increase the life of the motor and turbos as they are not cooked as much under the hood. So maybe there is a lot more life left in the motor and turbos.

Air Conditioning
===========
It has not worked in years. I don't care about that. I tend not to drive the car in the middle of the day when it is really hot.

Oil Leaks
======
I think the car has been leaking oil since I had the dealer put in the rebuilt motor years ago. I just cleanup the mess on the garage floor every once in a while. And I try not to notice if the car starts to smoke at a stop if oil gets on the exhaust (that rarely happens).

Boost Problem
==========
In the past when I have had problems, it has been obvious. One of the rubber hoses usually is leaking at a connection or has got a hole in it. I'll hear the leak with the hood up and just find and replace the hose. I don't hear an obvious leak this time. The problem is somewhat intermittent. Starting in 1st gear and taking off now I mostly only get to 4 lbs of boost, but if I'm at highway speed in 3rd, 4th or 5th, I usually can go over 10lbs.

What would you do?
===============
If you were in my situation, would you sell the car as it is? Or would you try to fix somethings first? Or at least figure out how expensive it might be to fix? I suppose I could take the car to KD Rotary to see what they think?

I guess I could try to look at boost problem myself, but I'm really busy now trying to get my house ready to sell.

If you got time then try to fix some or all of the problems yourself. If you got the money then send it to a shop. If you got niether then sell it as is. You'll probably take a loss in the end if your put any more money into the car.

just my opinion.

If I were you, I have some buddies over for some pizza and knock out most of those yourself. The oil leak is probably just the oil pan. It can be a pain to do, but can only cost you time and some sealant if you do it yourself.

I do think it would be worth wild to fix those before trying to sell the car. Those are pretty obvious problems, so a buyer may start wondering what non-obvious problems the car has.....

I agree with Mahjik, the car should be easier to sell if it's not a project. It might not help you net more money but many buyers steer away from a car needing work.

If you get the engine and turbos checked out by KDR that should be a strong selling point. I suspect your lack of boost might be related to a bad check valve.
