Question Temperature Sender for VDO Gauge

Alright, so after much debate and reading more threads on gauges than I ever imagined, I have decided to grab a pair of VDO vision gauges boost and temp). I went with mechanical Boost and Electric Temp gauges. What I need help on is picking the right temperature sender for the gauge.

egauges.com sends me here: http://egauges.com/vdo_send.asp?Sender=250F_120C_VDO to pick on out, but I have no idea. Any help? Or if you have already installed these gauges (which I know some of you have even bought them from egauges) which sender did you choose? Thanks, just trying to get some of those reliability mods done ASAP!

It looks like all of those senders have the same resistance output and temperature range, so the only thing to consider is the hole you're going to thread it into.

Temperature for what?

Oil temperature should be selected by where the measurement is being taken. See this site: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/MODS/EL/GAUGES/otemp.htm

Here's one for water temp: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/MODS/EL/GAUGES/wtemp.htm

Thanks for the inputs!
Sorry, it's for engine water temp gauge to *ahem* supplement the stock one. The sizes for the first group (1/2-14 NPT) are probably the size I'm going to go with and tap and I see that some are for warning lights, or multiple gauges (both of which I'm not going to be utilizing ATM).

The things I am confused about is the spade terminal versus the screw cap, and the floating ground vs the standard ground. How do they change the installation process?

Spade terminal vs. screw cap is just how the wire will connect to the sender. Standard ground goes through the body of the sender & floating ground has a 2nd connector for a ground wire. For a car, spade terminal & standard ground will be fine. Just make sure wherever you put the sender it is a grounded location (like the water pump housing).

Alright. Thanks. I'll order those tomorrow and see how the install works out for me!
