is the TB mod only for turbo

I hear about this tb mod and am wondering if i can do it on my s4 na 13b engine. and im seeking out a better decription than what i can find on the archives. anything helps. thanks

You can do it since the outer secondary plates on an S4 NA are always open once the engine warms up. And if your double throttle diaphragm is like every other one I've seen, it's failed permanently open anyhow. The outer plates can be removed and the openings in the TB sealed off. Given your location of Wyoming, I would not go so far as to remove the thermowax. That would be a mistake anywhere with cold weather.

yea its gillette wyo. cold winters(lots of snow) and would i benefit from removing the secondaries or is it a waste of time? and if i do remove them do i just use a little jb weld to seal the openings? thanks

Note that you are not removing the secondary throttle plates, you are removing the tertiary throttle plates.

There isn't much benefit to removing them if they work proper and/or are seized open.

If you do, the best way to seal the hole is to tap and then install a plug. JB-Weld does work, but I prefer something a little more solid.

I have also tried using JB Weld to plug up holes. It really doesn't work all that well.
