suggestions on removing vdi valve?
My car is a 91 s5 n/a.
I'm trying to remove my vdi valve to inspect it and replace the gasket, but it's stuck on with some sort of gooey black sealant instead of a proper gasket, and it doesn't want to come off.
Any ideas?

sounds like average rtv/silicone sealant. cut/scrape it off with a utility knife if you can manage not to damage the part you're working on. Be sure to clean the mating surfaces thoroughly when you replace the part.
