Suggested rim sizes for FDs

Hey guys, I was wondering what's the perfect size rim for FDs? I've never really bought rims for my cars, but I've always wanted too, yet I've realized that games like NFS Underground and Most Wanted always exaggerated rim sizes by making them look fitting at 20s in every car, but since the RX7 is a small car I find them too big or ricey for them. Do any of you guys have professional track cars? If so what rim size do you recommend for the car to look good as well as performing very good?

18x9.5 +45 with 255/35*18 is the perfect size all around

Thanks, I've also seen 17s but they look too small in my opinion, my eyes see too much rubber and that just takes away the attention from the actual rim.

You can find lots of useful info in the suspension/wheels/tires/brakes section of the forum. Here are a few threads:

All depends on what you want to do and what look you are going after.

Good luck

255/40/17 on 17x9 +48 also fit without fender rolling or other interference except maybe for coilovers..which your's probably require too. And if the OP is looking for performance, all else being equal, the smaller wheel size will perform better as it takes less energy to turn and stop, and will be less un-sprung weight. While 255/40 255's is ~ 12.5 mm more aspect ration than the 255/35's, on a street car is also means a better ride, arguably better handling and less risk of wheel damage from hitting a rut or pot-hole. Depending on the particular tire, both will keep the speedometer pretty close.
Personal taste IMO.
