Hi...first post here so hopefully this is where it belongs.

My daughter's '85 GS has been sitting in my garage for a year or so...unfortunately I can't move it because the emergency brake is stuck. The brake handle will engage/disengage but no matter what position it's in the brake is on.

Any suggestions how to unstick it?

Does the emergency brake feel like it has any tension on it?

 

It does...the brake handle seems to function normally, the brake just stays on. I have not checked under the car to see if the cables are slack or anything (I'll have to find out where the cables are first).

I'm not real car savvy...so any help is much appreciated.
