I got an 88 vert off a guy who knew little to nothing about rx7s. He told me it was street ported, now is there an way for me to actually know if it is or not?

 

You would have to remove the intake manifold and examine the ports. That is the only way to know for sure.

imo it sounds different too... kind of like putting cams on a piston engine

 

though not mutually exclusive, the "big cam"-sound is not a prerequisite. there are countless degrees of a streetport setups. i've built streetports that idle like bridgies and i've built some that idle just like stock.

 

ya its got the sound so thats the first thing that told me it did. my room mate has a 91 vert and mine has considerably more power.
