Stalling and rough idle.
The rough/rich Idle on this is on and off. Sometimes I start the car and it shakes like crazy and sounds rough; other times it is totally smooth. When it backfires it goes in sets of three pops. The other symptom I'm having is the car will, and without fail stall out less than ten minutes after being started. It happens at idle or even cruising in gear. This started a couple weeks ago on a cruise about 20 mins after getting some gas. If I'm not careful after it stalls and I attempt to restart it, the engine will easily flood as I've flooded it twice now and have had to deflood it.
Things i've tried so far:
1. vacuum leaks. I found one. loose line off of the pressure chamber to the turbo manifold. This didn't seem to fix anything and I even reset the ECU after reconnecting it.
2. Resetting the ECU since the weather just got super humid in japan.
3. attempted to adjust the TPS as I found it out of tolerance with the throttle body closed. this was a hassle but I eventually got the thing off and adjusted with the engine cold. It stalled while waiting for it to warm up, and the TPS now doesn't output voltage on the top line/bottom line. however the wires all shoot good continuity to ground. I'm still looking into the TPS as the culprit
I used the info on this thread to try and accomplish this: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...g-more-170731/
4. The ISC was ticking non stop after the engine stalled unless I removed power to it. Assumed it was either bad/still trying to do it's job so I ran the engine with it unplugged and the car still stalled out. which rules out this as bad.
5. cleaned the spark plugs thoroughly.
If anyone has suggestions I'll take them, thanks for your time.
Car is a 1993 JDM FD3S
Stock ECU and just about everything else is stock except some intakes for the turbos.

My next direction after the TPS is going to be the fuel system, maybe I should have started here. Have been trying to get a fuel filter but finding parts in japan isn't always easy.

Had a similar issue and it turned out to be loose spark plug wires.
Looks like you already checked your plugs, but it's something that can work its way loose and cause these symptoms for anyone else experiencing this problem.

Still waiting on parts myself, I'm interested in what the fix will be. Until then I'm cleaning up other areas of the car. Thanks for the comment.

Follow-Up
To close this out for anyone with a similar or future issue. Since I live in Japan I ordered all the parts I though might need changing. I ended Up replacing the fuel filter/Idle Speed Control Solenoid. Assuming the solenoid fixed the stalling, but the car still idled like crap and I shot the TSP bad so I changed that as well. Car Runs well now and all that is left is to change the oil since I flooded the engine twice.
I also ordered the Fuel pressure regulator but ended up not needing to change it, will save for a future rainy day.

Plot twist, after completing everything I talked about and letting the car run with no problems for a couple days. I went to drive it, ran inside to grab something before leaving and it stalled before I went back outside. FML. And the engine flooded again. guess I'm looking at the injectors and pressure regulator now.

Alternatively, I'm thinking coolant?
There is a brief presence of white smoke the first time I start the car in the day. I haven't noticed any coolant consumption in the months I've owned the car, but I haven't been looking either. And the smoke doesn't smell sweet at all. Neither do the plugs when I take them out to deflood the engine; that smell is definitely gasoline. (The carbon build up on them is crazy).
While looking for fuel system faults I'll do a geyser test and see what's what there, but even if there's a coolant leak I don't see why it would cause the engine to stall and then flood.
