I have an 88 NA fc and it smokes blue smoke on startup when its cold (goes away once you drive it down the street) and as I moved it into my shop today, I noticed blueish smoke slowly coming out of the exhaust after I turned off the engine. Remember I had not warmed it up yet. Just curious if anyone thinks its something I should be worried about. Thanks!

 

most rotaries tend to smoke a little on start up from oil sitting in the housings if i remember correctly. not sure on after you turn off the engine though, i've never heard of that.

 

so smoke throwing is normal when started? bcuz later on it shoots out flames when i rev it

 

Back firing is from unburnt fuel in the exhaust. I'm guessing your.catalytic converter is bad/ you don't have one?
