slow to build boost, single turbo

hey guys I'm new to the forum but I've been reading these forums for the past year learning and solving all of my problems, but its time that i finally made an account because I'm stumped on this boost problem. i have a 94 rx7 with a single turbo and all of the supporting mods . I recently got it tuned and the tuner pointed to my attention that it builds boost really slow. it doesn't reach full boost (14psi) until 5300 rpms which i know isn't right. i have checked all of the components that i could think of which is the wastegate, exhaust leaks , intake leaks, and boost leaks. the only thing that is left for me to check would be the manual boost controller and it would be awesome if i could have others shed some light on how they set up their boost controllers up with a tial wastgate. thanks!

No experience with a single. You've already checked the things I would have suggested. The only thing left I can think of is that it's just a characteristic of the particular turbo you have. If you don't get an answer here and haven't already done so, you might try searching in this section Single Turbo RX-7's - RX7Club.com for some insight. And when your post-count is high enough you can post a thread on the same issue.

welcome to the board.

it might also be helpful to say which turbo you have and the specs, if you have them available.
