Single turbo hitting chassis leg
Single turbo hitting chassis leg
Hi all. I'm swapping a single turbo kit off my other she'll. I found in the receipts one for a chassis cut out and box section. It looks terrible, I'm putting this turbo and engine into my other shell and wondering is this a common problem? Are there any better ways to solve the clearance problem?
Cheers

I used to have an FD but she still had the stock twins. I've seen a few single turbo builds on the FD and don't recall any cutting into the chassis, that I could see. Maybe a different manifold would position the turbo so you don't have to cut into the chassis.

Many threads have been posted on fitemnt isssues of single turbos on FD's...(heh..see what I did there???)
Mainly it is a "wrong size part for application" scenario.
Now guys have come up with some real wild solutions for this problem but If anything it should be researched first in depth so you don't run into this as you get into it.
Best advice is to find manufacturers that are applying the specific turbo to the car with their manifold OR asking if it can be done before you spend all that cash and find out later that it was not possible.
I've got one word for you Curt.
GLEASE..(Cdn section) ..try him...local and good dude.
