Single Turbo on auto???? Worth it???

What's up everyone??
I just got my 93 FD about a month ago and literally got sideswiped on the freeway 2 weeks later. As I'm debating on doing a widebody or just get it repaired stock, I've researching about going single. I do have a auto (only got auto so she can drive it time to time, used to have a Dodge Viper and she never drove it, still hear that complaint to this day) and been wanting to go single. I've been looking for a Power FC but found out I need a auto harness that connects to stock ECU and upgrade the fuel system. I want to go single but will the stock auto be reliable??? I know it doesn't hold that much power, but maybe small single do able????? My rear stock turbo looks to be leaking oil, so I think I need to replace them soon.

Thanks
David

Single turbo and automatic is actually desirable in the drag racing/freeway racing worlds as you don't lose boost between shifts and can build boost at the line- so the affects of turbo lag are not nearly as bad as a manual.

IDK how strong the FD auto is, but you could see if the 20B Cosmo auto is any stronger. Just from looking at the 20B auto it looks the same as turbo 300zx/Pathfinder auto and with some cheap pressure mods those hold good hp reliably on the heavier Nissans.

People usually toss the 20B auto when doing 20B swaps on FDs so you should be able to get one for the shipping cost.

My 94 Supra was auto but I had it built with a high stall. I hoping the stock one will last a bit on a medium size turbo. Thanks for the response, I'll check out that 20b auto.
