Should i order rotary engine from a jdm website

I have a 1989 rx-7 and i was gonna order a 13b single turbo engine and tranny from jdmenginescorp.com but a guy i talked to said any engine ordered from online or from jdm dont have any compression and they all need rebuilt. So now iam alittle confused on what to do next. Iam on an extremely tight budget for this car i just want it to run and drive for right now. Thanks

make sure the website gaurantees good compression, and it would be worth rebuilding anyway.

Just save yourself the headache and order from this guy: https://www.rx7club.com/members/japan2la-65053/ BTW if you on a tight budget, just put the car aside and save up.

+1 Japan2LA is a good source for JDM engines and parts.

a used engine is a used engine. Its more fun to drive a reliable underpowered car than one that is in pieces. Keep working, accumulate parts as your savings allows

jdmenginescorp.com does guarantee the compression, however I think you'll see dealing with someone with knowledge from this sight or as a referral will save you money in the long run. Not to mention you know up front what your getting instead of taking a big chance.

+1 most guys on here will be 100% honest with you. we are not here to dick people around. i have had NO luck with JDM motors. i helped a friend put one in only to blow a coolant seal in less then 7000km. its not worth it. either save some money or try and find a salvage car with a good motor.

sadly, milage doesnt matter at all. most JDM engines have been sitting for years and years. in which case the coolant seals will be shot due to the coolant sitting and rotting the seals. let the turbos spool up all the way 4 or 5 times and youll be looking at a rebuild.
