Shift buzzer going off early?
My shift buzzer had been going off at 7k (Redline) until about a week ago. I started to get on it and at 5.5k it starts buzzing. I checked all the fluids, and everything was fine. What else would be causing this issue? Ive look everywhere online and am having no luck.
It's an '88 vert NA. And that's true! It just scares the **** out of me when I hear it. In my mind, that means it's about to blow, but maybe Im just tripping.
Today, the buzzer has resumed going off at 7k. I don't know what's up with it....

I have discovered an oil leak in front of the engine. Looks like it's somewhere under the powersteering pump. What could that be from?
Does the buzzer go off if oil pressure is low?

Could it be going off when Im getting on it cause the oil system is losing pressure through the leak? Where Is the oil pump located? Right below the PS pump? And what are the 3, 1 1/2 inch braided hoses below the PS pump? Are those oil cooler hoses?
Double check your oil. That buzzer is for redline/low oil/door open.
Could be a faulty buzzer/flasher unit. It is close to a heater vent, I have seen many units with bad solder points, could possibly be from the heat.

fix your idiot cluster illumination and you may just find out what is triggering the buzzer.
the RPM signal being faulty is rarely a cause for the buzzer to go off. either it works fine or not at all, in my experiences.
of course topping off the oil takes too long to rule out, apparently.

When the Key is in the "on" position and the car is off, all the graphics display. when the car is running, none of those lights are illuminated.
And the oil is topped off! i check it EVERYDAY! ALL FLUIDS ARE FULL.

The cause for the idiot lights to turn on in unison w/key to on only proves that the low oil warning light works. The circuit which causes this particular light to turn on for warning purposes is a different circuit.
Alright, but the oil IS full. The buzzer would be going off constantly, not when im pushing the car past 5k, correct? So that is not the issue to my knowledge. Does the sensor go off when there is low oil PRESSURE? If so, could me pushing the car with there being a decent leak, cause the oil PRESSURE to not be where it should be, and cause a warning buzzer to go off?
What are the 3 large braided hoses below the PS pump?? The leak is coming from somewhere around those hoses, or from those hoses themselves, depending if they are Oil lines.
Thanks!

nope, there is no oil pressure related warning.
the only other possibility is if the oil level wire is shorting to ground on the engine or chassis but the warning light would illuminate also. but there is a slight delay before the light comes on so it may just be not turning on due to the short time given.

I have a similar issue on my N/A 1988 FC3S. The buzzer would come on between 5.5k and 6.5k rpm. No warning lights such as coolant level or oil level illuminated. I checked all fluids. The coolant reservoir level was low so I added coolant. Oil level was fine since I topped it off (~350ml) a few days before. Now the buzzer goes off between 6k (rarely) and most frequently 6.9k rpm. When the buzzer does go off early, it is usually at 6.5k rpm. During this event I was accelerating so the tachometer increased its reading rather uniformly. As the tachometer hits 6.5k, the buzzer will sound and then the tachometer reading will suddenly spike to over 7k rpm (I am not depressing the gas pedal more when this happens) as if there is a lag between last reading of 6.5k and the actual rpm. Has this happened to anyone?
