Several retarded questions

1) How the hell do I turn on the FTP lights? I've tried just about everything, but not sure how. I am missing the switch right above the wiper switch, if that's it, then go figure.

2) On note of the wipers, they only work on medium speed. If they're running on medium speed, and I switch it to low/whatever, they immediately stop where they are. Relay? Motor?

3) I've been told that rotaries aren't fond of synthetic. I've always run Amsoil in my cars, and before buying some to give it it's first oil change, I'd like to get some feedback so I don't waste money on more Amsoil.

Thanks in advance,
Sam

1) USDM FTP's are not like JDM FTP's. They only 'turn on' when you turn the brights on with the lights retracted.

2) Your relay stopped working in the unit, get a new one or replace it. Icemark has a write up to replace it, it looks like a total pain in the but.

3) Amsoil is the ****, use it. They also have a premix with rotaries in mind. As far as synthetics in rotaries, low grade sythetics are worse then regular oil, but high grade synthetics are better.

farberio is right about one of the relays going bad. Replacing the relay isn't too difficult. The satisfaction of saving tons of money by fixing this yourself (instead of getting a new unit), will make this seemingly daunting task much more worthwhile.

Here's a pretty good writeup for the relay fix.

You will need to replace relay #3
