Shut the car off and it made a sound like I'd run over something and got back in to go and it wouldn't idle. Checked it out and a hose connected to what looked like EGR popped off. Put it back on an it will idle now but has a scraping, dragging sorta sound at low rpm. Anyone have a clue as to what might be happening here?

 

You'll need to post vehicle info first. Year, trim level, modifications, etc... Pictures of things you're unsure of help too.

If this noise is engine speed dependent, it may be coming from a belt-driven accessory (such as an air pump).

 

Hey I apologize, it is an 1985 RX7 GS. I overlooked it.

 

I appreciate your response and after looking at it again, it does kinda sound like the smog pump. I hadn't pulled the belt off and felt of it yet thou but will soon.
