Safety Interlock/Clutch Interface
When I depress my clutch I have a loud clicking noise. It looks like the safety interlock switch that contacts the clutch pedal arm is shifting back and forth in to a hole on the arm . Found plastic debris on the floor. I believe that there is a plastic contactor/grommet on the clutch pedal arm. Does anyone know about this contact. What about a photo.
It's more likely the clutch switch for the cruise control (front side of the pedal arm). The interlock switch is mounted on the firewall, and gets pressed in when the pedal is all the way down. The plastic stop piece that you had break has also broken on my car.
You can see the clutch switch & stop here: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...1&postcount=27.
This is a picture from my car, and you can see the interlock switch in the back: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...0&postcount=28
You can also see at the time I had a makeshift bolt + chunk of rubber where my stop used to be. I've since picked up a replacement from Mazdatrix, but as a short term solution, I'd recommend taking the one located under the clutch rod & interlock switch, and moving it where the broken one used to be. At least on my car, the lower stop never gets touched when the pedal is all the way down.
