The you are about to break it! Normally the twins only produce about 10-12 psi. Is there perhaps something wrong with your boost gauge?

No, your gauge reads in mmHg X10, so when the needle hits "+40" it means 40 x 10mmHg = 400mmHg = 7.7 PSI.

The stock engine management computer will initiate fuel cut to the rear rotor somewhere around this pressure, so if you are experiencing an engine-gagging, hesitation, "brick wall" effect at this point then that is what it is. The fuel cut is keeping the engine from running too lean and blowing up.

The 10AE has a single turbo that normally runs about 6.5 PSI boost, and as explained above the computer will cut the fuel to the rear rotor about 1 PSI above this level. Even if the engine and computer are modified to handle more boost, the turbo will puke its seals long before 40 PSI.
