SA Gas Tank ports

In the process of cleaning up my gas tank I noticed that the Fuel return pipe is at least partially blocked. It doesn't appear to be rust or dirt. I've run a wire through it to the very end. Could this be "normal"? THe car was running fine when the tank was removed. Albeit, that was a few years ago.

Return line, next to the supply line, should have no restriction. If you can't rod it out, debraze the tubing, remove and clean, then braze back in. The 3rd tube is for vapors and terminates just inside the tank. If the tank was ever resealed, some of the sealer may have restricted the return line. If that's the case, check both the supply and return lines.

That's what I was afraid of. And the tank is all clean and pretty now. Not looking forward to learning how to braze. Thought I might try temporarily straightening out the tube and make a rudimentary roto rooter out of a bit of coat hanger and my trusty Dewalt drill. Wish me luck.

Many Thanks,

Herb
