Question S5 Vert w/13b-re microtech swap Q's

So my original intention was to buy an s5 vert and do a turbo swap. I then found one for sale online with a single turbo 13b-re cosmo engine running a microtech stand alone putting down 375 horses and done by Gotham Racing in Texas. Awesome. Better than I could have asked for, FD housings to use an HKS exhaust, 3mm apex seals, FMIC, set up for pre-mix, the works. The engine is done (for now) in my opinion, and all I want to do is some body/suspension work.

The bad part that during the rebuild it was given a Stage 3 port job. I had intended to use this as a daily driver here on Long Island NY. So now its a high flow cat and an air pump to try and pass emissions.

So my main question is whether I should be looking for FC or FD parts. The high flow cat in particular, but if there is anything else that is worth knowing I would appreciate it. As a sub question to that does anyone know if the Tanabe 93db mufflers are easily fitted on the FC? I want to keep the dual exhaust, so really its a FD HKS exhaust to the high flow cat (anything better than random technologies?) to the 'Y' to the Tanabe Medalion Touring (or Concept G if it fits better).

And while I have your attention, is it relatively easy to tune a microtech using a laptop myself or should it really be dyno'd? I did want to wait till most of the mods were installed first, but if anyone knows a good microtech rotary tuner I'm listening.

Thanks in advance on helping me out with my first REAL rotary car that I intend to drive until I sell it to buy the new 2012 16X unnamed car coming out hopefully.

-Bob

***bump***not sure if the Gotham guys hang around these parts anymore. I'll see if I can't scare one up in the South Forum to come over here...as an asides, Ari and Chris at Rotary Performance have a history of making big streetport engines also emission compliant.

the engine itself has very minimum overlap so you should be able to pass smog as long as you have all the necessary smog items for it. last I remembered, I don't think there were any smog compliance items in the car(RE JDM engine). you will need more than a cat. you will also need to add an air pump to pass smog. I'm not sure how strict NYC is on smog but the car does have an aftermarket ECU and turbo. they may not pass you for visual. if you have any questions on the car, feel free to PM me.

Thanks for that, but is it really that specific to each individual setup? I would have thought it was more generalized than that...

Thanks for that, but I was hoping it was a more general question that could be answered by anyone familiar with the 13b-re in an S5. From the archives it sounds like no matter what its going to need customization, but if anyone know whether particular parts are easier to fit or not would be helpful.
