S4 13B tubo AR required

Hi All,

I'm a 4WD nut and looking at using a 13B turbo on my 4WD we had one running a 13B torbo at our winch challange and it went like stink , Most use EVO turbo's but this person said the 13B turbo was better

I have been offered a S4 turbo but I need to know the Exhast AR and the compressor AR if possible.
Thanks
Graham

The turbine AR is 1.0, and the compressor is something like .50.

Compressor wheel is a 48 trim, 43.68 mm inducer, 63 mm exducer

Turbine wheel measurements are 63.75mm major & 54.61mm exducer.

There are some compressor maps for similar sized turbos here: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/stock-turbo-wheel-size-818137/

So you had a 13b engine with an evo turbo on it? I'd bet the turbine is way too small on whatever turbo that was, since rotaries have much stronger exhaust pulses than a 4-banger.

the biggest problem is that the turbine inlet flange is not a commonly available design. you would have to get a custom flange made.

check these guys out: http://stores.ebay.com/MC-Motorsport...2BSI%26otn%3D4

they make custom adapter flanges, although I have yet to use them. you would have to give them an OEM turbo-to-manifold gasket to do it.

About an hour with the jigsaw and some 1/2" steel will be all that is required to make a flange, but I think it's time wasted. The HT-18 is a very old an inefficient turbo. There are far better aftermarket choices available. At a higher cost, though. The benefit of course with something like the GT30 is that it uses industry standard flanges, comes will a full warranty, was designed in this century, etc.
