RX8 Build Decision
I miss my rx8 because it handled better than any car I have ever had. I have had an RSX with full tien suspension, an 03 Z06 with suspension upgrades, and driven alot of fast cars. If I go with the Rx7 motor swap and wouldnt think it would throw off the 50/50 weight ratio, but if I go with an LSX conversion am I going to lose that weight distribution? Also, No disrespect to rotary performance in Garland, tx but, I am not willing to pay what they want for a job like this. Are there and good independent guys out there that could do the work for me locally in the Dallas, TX area on this project for a reasonable price. I can get most of the parts but trying to do this project would just be over my head.

welcome to the board.
have you registered at the Rx8 Club site? you'll probably get more pertinent information there.
so you're basically trying to get another Rx-8 and you want to know if you should put an REW or LSx in it?
it's really just going to come down to what you want. there are pros and cons to both and i'm sure there will also be unique headaches to both installs. you'll find a few REW-powered Rx-8s here, but probably no V8-powered ones. as i said, Rx8 Club will have more cars that you can use to make a decision better suited to your wants.

the lsx isn't much heavier than a rew, but you may get flame for choosing pistons over rotors lol. both are rather difficult swaps however, so try and figure out which suits you needs and what characteristics you want in an engine
