RX7 FD Safe Mode
I have a RX7 FD and after 2 minutes of driving it cant go more than 3-4K RPM .Looks like it goes to Safe mode .i managed to bridge the obd and the led flashes 2 long times . (car does not have check engine light) .if you know something that can help please mention it .Thanks in advance guys and best wishes !!!!!

Yes, sounds like LIMP mode. Fuel is cut and timing will not advance unless vacuum is sensed in the intake. So NO boost.
I’m not familiar with JDM but assume the codes are read the same. If that’s true two long flashes is a ‘20’ which is the oil metering pump position sensor. That code will put the engine into Limp. That sensor is integral to the pump assembly which isn’t really serviceable. You need a new oil metering pump. Good used ones come up regularly in the parts for sale section. A guess is around $100...but not sure about international shipping.
It’s a bit of a pain but changeable in the car. I was there once several years ago...

The only other choice you have to get it out of limp is to install a standalone ECU and premix 2-cycle oil with fuel. An ECU is going to be a lot more expensive.

Thanks my friend for your help . i kinda thought it was the oil metering pump position sensor but i thought it was a little hard to go into limp mode from this,we are going to chech it and search for a used one as the new is really expensive . also thanks for your other post showing the fixing process.cheers ✔✔✔!!!!!
